unslop is a free skill for Claude Code and Codex by Damir Sokolovsky (@heydamir), licensed CC BY 4.0: https://github.com/heydamir/unslop.
It looks for the usual signs of AI-made design: purple gradients, glows, gradient text, emoji labels, "New ✨" badges, shouty copy and uneven spacing. Then it picks a direction from what your product does and redesigns the screen in nine passes: spacing, color, icons, copy, type, layout, details, visuals and motion. It keeps your features and sections.
What you need
- Claude Code (or Codex)
- For the before-and-after video: Node.js, Playwright and ffmpeg
Install the skill
For every project:
git clone https://github.com/heydamir/unslop
mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && cp -r unslop/skills/unslop ~/.claude/skills/For one project only, copy it into .claude/skills/ inside that project instead.
For Codex, ask it: $skill-installer install https://github.com/heydamir/unslop/tree/main/skills/unslop
(Optional) Set up the video
From your project folder:
npm install -D playwright
npx playwright install chromiumYou also need ffmpeg on your PATH (on a Mac: brew install ffmpeg).
Run it
In Claude Code, type /unslop and say what you want it to fix:
/unslop this dashboard
/unslop the hero of https://example.com
/unslop my landing page and make the story video so I can post it- It audits the screen first, then shows you its direction and waits for your OK before it edits anything. Answer it, or add "just do it" to your request to skip the wait.
- If the screen is already good, it says so and suggests only small changes.
- Have only a live site and no code? It saves a copy of the page and redesigns that copy. You hand the result to whoever owns the code.
What my run looked like
I ran /unslop dashboard.html and make the story video on the skill's own example dashboard (examples/dashboard.html).
- It took 14 minutes 22 seconds (43 steps) and wrote a new
dashboard.unslopped.htmlplus a 10-second square video of the screen fixing itself. The original file wasn't touched. - It replaced the purple and glows with graphite and one orange accent, and swapped every emoji for a line icon. "Welcome back, Damir! 👋" became "October 2026" and "+12%!!" became "+12% vs September". All spacing now sits on a 4px grid.
- Check its sample data. It added a monthly revenue chart and a receipt with made-up numbers. Its report says so; swap in your real data before you ship.
Try it on the examples first
The repo ships two vibe-coded screens to practise on: examples/dashboard.html and examples/hero.html.
